SPRINGVILLE, Utah (AP) -- A Spanish Fork man is dead after he hit a cow on State Road 77 in Springville this morning.

It happened just before 5:00 am on a rural road at 4000 South 1318 West.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Derek Jensen says a car hit the cow but later left the scene to call police because the person didn't have a cell phone.

In the meantime, a second car heading eastbound hit the cow again.

Jensen say that driver, 21-year-old Quinn Batty, died on the way to the hospital.

Authorities say the driver of the first car was not hurt.

The accident is now under investigation. So far, no charges have been filed.
