SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei says he will return for his senior season.

Lotulelei revealed the decision Friday after the Utes practiced in preparation for the Sun Bowl. He says he made the decision last week after talking it over with family.

His return is a big boost for Utah. He won the Morris Trophy as the Pac-12's top defensive lineman as voted on by offensive linemen.

The 6-foot-3, 325-pound junior from South Jordan was named first-team All-Pac-12 by the conference's head coaches. He finished the regular season with 38 tackles, including nine tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

The Utes topped the Pac-12 in red zone defense and allowed a league-low 19.7 points per game.
