BOUNTIFUL — A former Northridge High School teacher pleaded guilty Friday to two second-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a 17-year-old student.
Jeremy Page Flygare, 33, of Sunset, was originally charged with three counts of rape, a first-degree felony, and prosecutors agreed to downgrade the charges in exchange for a guilty plea. He now faces two separate prison terms of one to 15 years for each count.
Flygare is to be sentenced Nov. 10, at Farmington's 2nd District Court.
Hired as a drama teacher in 2007, he has since been fired from the position and is undergoing treatment.
The victim's parents informed police of the inappropriate relationship between Flygare and their daughter in March, after they returned home from a vacation and found him sitting on the couch with their daughter. Police have said the girl told them the two were intimate 10 to 15 times, including once at the school.
Flygare was arrested in May and charged later that same month.
