OREM — Utah Valley University officials say it is the first university in Utah to offer free academic content on Apple's iTunes U.

Earlier this month, UVU began posting course content for on-demand download to students, faculty and the public at large. People can download video and audio of lectures, as well as class materials, on a variety of courses through iTunes. The content can be downloaded onto personal computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones — the iTunes software is required.

"Students and the public can go to iTunes U and access the content. It is available to anyone," said Ray Walker, associate vice president of the office of information technology.
