(KSL News) No money for the Hogle Zoo this year.

This afternoon the Salt Lake County Council voted against putting the $65 million bond on the fall ballot.

The money would have funded a massive face lift for several animal enclosures, updated the veterinary hospital and improved parking for zoo guests.

The vote split down partisan lines,5-4, with all five Republicans voting against putting the measure on the November 6 ballot.
