PROVO, Utah (AP) -- An investigator wants records from Provo Municipal Council meetings 19 months ago regarding Councilman Steve Turley and property in Slate Canyon.

The Daily Herald of Provo reports the Utah County attorney submitted a formal records request seeking audio recordings, minutes and notes from two public and one closed council meeting held Oct. 13, 2009.

The newspaper reports the probe stems from citizen complaints that Turley used his council position for personal gain, and Mayor John Curtis's call last November for an investigation.

Turley has in the past labeled allegations against him "pernicious" and political theater.

The Daily Herald says Council Chairman Rick Healey wants a closed meeting to listen to tapes before turning them over to the county attorney, since he and others weren't on the council at the time.
