The SWAT team is called in to arrest a rape and kidnapping suspect who barricaded himself in his home.

The SWAT team is called in to arrest a rape and kidnapping suspect who barricaded himself in his home. The SWAT team shattered the windows of the house. The suspect has a violent past and they didn't want to take any chances.
Annette Rodarte: "The SWAT team just banged on our door and woke us up."
Neighbors got an early-morning wake up call, then they were forced to evacuate for several hours.
Annette Rodarte: "We didn't hear anything. We didn't know anything."
Annette Rodarte later found out the police were there to arrest her neighbor. Gregory Oliver was a wanted man.
Det. Kevin Joiner, Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "Everything I've got right now is really vague. I do have that we've got an adult female that was held against her will and was raped."
Rodarte believes the victim is Oliver's girlfriend, but police haven't confirmed that.
Annette Rodarte: "I heard that he had duct taped her and stuff like that."
Rodarte says her neighbor was odd, but didn't seem dangerous. He told her he spent time in prison.
Annette Rodarte: "He told me he had a history with the law, and so, I mean, it's scary to know that people like that are on the streets."
Police say Oliver has a violent criminal history, that's why the SWAT team went in to make the arrest. Oliver eventually surrendered.
Det. Kevin Joiner: "He does have, as I've said, a violent criminal history. And somebody that's dangerous that we need to get off the street."
Gregory Oliver was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of kidnapping and rape.
