SALT LAKE CITY -- A new bill is making its way to the Utah House would prohibit selling products that turn beverages into alcoholic drinks to minors.
Products like Spike Your Juice would be included in HB85. It's a powder you can add to a drink and after two days it turns into an alcoholic drink.
Rep. Val Peterson, R-Orem, says he's trying to close the loopholes with this bill.
"It's a product that's easily accessible to minors, and (I) felt like it was something that should be restricted," Peterson said.
Right now Spike Your Juice is mainly found online.
The bill has passed a House committee and now moves to the House floor for a vote.
