SOUTH SALT LAKE -- Pictures and descriptions of a belt possibly tied to a South Salt Lake murder have generated quite a response.

South Salt Lake police officer Gary Keller said detectives may even work over the holiday weekend if the tips are leading somewhere.

"I don't know the exact number of calls and tips we've received, but we do have detectives in the office today and they should be following up on those tips and leads," he said.

The unique Armani Exchange belt was found at the crime scene where Sherry Black was murdered. Black's family said the belt doesn't belong to them.

Black, 64, was found beaten and stabbed to death in her business and home, B&W Billiards & Books at 3466 S. 700 East, on Nov. 30.

The belt has a waist measurement of approximately 36-38 inches. A sticker on the back of the belt buckle is labeled "323." This number may be an item or inventory number from a clothing store or thrift store, Keller said.
