Paul Nelson, KSL Newsradio This week, a group of people will be holding a special blood drive especially aimed at helping the military. For our soldiers fighting overseas, you may think the Red Cross sends free shipments of blood on a regular basis, but that's not the case.

"As a military entity, we and the U.S. government have to get the blood from somewhere, and so often they have to purchase the blood," says Army Major Jeff Jacobson. He says all the blood gathered this week by Military Life Force will go to the troops.

The drive will be at Hill Air Force Base today and tomorrow, Dugway on Wednesday and Fort Douglass in Salt Lake City on Thursday.
