PROVO, Utah (AP) -- A former BYU basketball player has pleaded guilty to charges that involved driving under the influence.
Rashaun Broadus pleaded guilty to a lesser crime of alcohol or drug related reckless driving, which is a Class B misdemeanor rather than taking the DUI charges to trial.
Three other charges against Broadus -- driving without a license, speeding and driving with tinted windows -- were dismissed.
He was sentenced to a year of probation and a $432 fine.
Broadus was on Jan. 8 after scoring a season-high 19 points in the team's conference opener against San Diego State.
He was suspended from the Brigham Young basketball team the next day.
