SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City will add solar panels.
Massachusetts-based Ameresco Inc. says it won the contract to install rooftop and ground-based solar panels that will produce hundreds of kilowatts of electricity.
Ameresco says the $6.6 million project will take 10 months to complete.
The VA is complying with a federal law that requires agencies to obtain at least five percent of their electricity needs from renewable sources by 2012.
