(KSL News) Police say a man and woman in Oregon raped their seven adopted children. Some of the children were from Utah.

The father has been charged with rape-- the mother, rape and sodomy.

The kids, all between the ages of nine and 15, say their mother encouraged them to have sex with each other. Police arrested a son, accusing him of raping his older sisters.

Eventually, a teenage daughter ran away, and told police she'd been sexually abused.

Sgt. Ken Selig / Josephine County Sheriff's Office: "Children have indicated there has been sexual contact between the children, and between the parents and the children."

The kids were never allowed to go to school. Neighbors say the couple adopted the children to collect thousands of dollars, monthly, from the state.

Inside the home, investigators found a white dress that was allegedly used in a mock wedding ceremony, when the father married one of the teenage girls.

The family lived on a farm with 30 goats, six dogs, llamas, pigs and poultry. Authorities say the animals have been left to starve, with no food or water.
