SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Three people were killed yesterday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on I-15 near Leeds in Washington County.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the Dodge Durango with Nevada plates was traveling northbound when witnesses say it entered the median.
The SUV was traveling about 75 miles per hour and hit a clump of rocks and was thrown in the air, landing on its top.
All three people in the SUV were killed and all were wearing their seat belts. Troopers say fatigue may have been a factor in the crash. Killed were the driver, 58-year-old Elaine Annette Smith, 83-year-old Ellis Arthur Roberts and 82-year-old Vella Marie Roberts. The Roberts are of Norwalk, California. Smith was from North Las Vegas.
