(KSL News) The Salt Lake Police and Fire departments want a new headquarters at the cost of close to $200 million.

The current public safety complex is in a state of disrepair, with standing water in several rooms and a lack of proper holding cells.

Officials are hoping voters will be able to decide on a bond to build a new complex in the upcoming November elections. The money for the bond would come as an increase in property taxes.

The City Council will decide on the ballot measure later this summer.
