Police say Astrid Valdivia left a note for her family saying she was running away from home and was staying with a friend.

On Tuesday, Clearfield detectives obtained new information from the family which prompted the Endangered Person Advisory. Family members told police Valdivia may be 30-year-old Anthony Allen Martinez, who has a history of violence.

After the alert was issued, detectives got a tip that Martinez was in Sacramento, Calif. When police officers there responded to the area he was believed to be in, they found Martinez and Valdivia together.

Police say Martinez ran from officers but was quickly captured. He now faces charges of resisting arrest and child endangerment in the state of California.

In Utah, Martinez could be charged child kidnapping.

As for Valdivia, police say she is safe and will be reunited with her family soon.
