MOAB, Utah (AP) -- A Colorado man fell to his death this week in Canyonlands National Park.
According to the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, 37-year-old Gregory Stearns of Nederland was killed around midnight on Tuesday.
Deputies say Stearns was on a trip with 13 friends on the White Rim Road in the Island in the Sky district near the Murphy Hogback primitive camp.
Officers say after most of the group had gone to bed, Stearns got up and went the wrong way -- walking off a 50-foot ledge.
Stearns' death remains under investigation, however, authorities do believe alcohol may have been a factor.
