SANDY -- Firefighters knocked down a fast-moving fire near a dog park in Sandy Sunday night.

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. near 9800 South and 300 East. Firefighters had to reach the 10-acre field fire by hiking a small dog trail. Crews evacuated the nearby dog park but saved neighboring houses.

Bat. Chief Toby Kerby of the Sandy Fire Department says, "It was going quite quickly when we first showed up. The guys got a really good stop on it."

No one was injured and the cause is still under investigation.
