WEST VALLEY CITY -- West Valley City police have caught up with a man suspected of terrorizing a woman and her daughter.
Police say they've responded to the woman's West Valley apartment at least six times in the past two weeks on calls of domestic violence. The man always fled before police could take him into custody.
About 1 a.m. Thursday, officers found Steven Bemis driving through Salt Lake City on his way to that apartment and arrested him.
Lt. Michael Coleman of the West Valley City Police Department says, "He has several arrest warrants, including some domestic violence arrest warrants, as well as several new felony charges."
Police believe the woman is Bemis' estranged wife.
