SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City police are looking for five men who carjacked two vehicles at the same time.

Police say the victims were in two separate cars. They pulled into the parking lot at the Village North Apartments near 600 North and 900 West at 11:15 p.m. Thursday.

They were being followed.

Lt. Craig Gleason of the Salt Lake City Police Department says, "My understanding is that the suspect vehicle was behind them, didn't mean anything to them at the time. But our five suspects dismounted from that other car, demanded the keys and cell phones and then left (in the stolen cars)."

Police say the carjackers were driving a large white SUV with a Utah vanity license plate #1 FAN.

The two stolen cars are a white Honda Civic with Utah plate B458F and a red Toyota Yaris with Utah plate A933MG.
