LAYTON -- Prosecutors have filed rape charges against a former Northridge High School drama teacher.

Jeremy Flygare, of Sunset, faces three separate counts of rape in connection with a sexual relationship with one of his 17-year-old female students. Police say the relationship went on for about a month and the pair had sex once at the school.

Prosecutors say because Flygare was the girl's teacher, he violated a position of trust.

Flygare has been on paid administrative leave since the end of March.
