SALT LAKE CITY -- Some Utahns got a chance to tour a place of history Saturday.
As part of Celebrate the City 2010, the public was invited to walk through the Fisher Mansion at 1206 W. 200 South in Salt Lake. Visitors were also treated to music, root beer and games.
The old Victorian was designed by architect Richard Kletting, the same man who designed the State Capitol. It was built in 1893.
The city eventually purchased the mansion in 2006 and is now looking to renovate the building.
"I'd like to see a lot of use with the Jordan Parkway. I think that's really important," said Mary Beth Riemondy, the great-granddaughter of the homeowner. "Perhaps it's a cultural center for the west side. I think it's whatever the people on the west side want to see done here. That would have been my grandmother's wish."
City officials are asking people to submit letters with ideas by June 11.
