NORTH SALT LAKE -- You've seen, maybe even put together, a project for a science fair. But a charter school in North Salt Lake tried something a little different Thursday -- a Service Learning Fair.

Students at Wasatch Peak Academy displayed what they've learned from service projects throughout the year, including recycling projects, planting trees and making blankets for Primary Children's Hospital.

"The best part is it extends to what they do at home, and they start talking about what they're doing for neighbors in the community," says Sandy Shepard.

She says service is part of their school's charter and key to students' education.
