SALT LAKE CITY -- Voters who approved a split from the Jordan School District will now decide whether they want to shell out $250 million to improve schools. Tuesday night, the Canyons School Board voted to place a bond on the June ballot.
District officials say the money could be borrowed without a tax increase if residents agree to forgo an expected decrease in taxes during the next 20 years.
The bond would go toward building a new high school in Draper and renovating a dozen existing schools.
