(KSL News) The promoters of a "rave" party that was busted in Spanish Fork Canyon are suing the Utah County Sheriff's Office.

The lawsuit claims the Sheriff misinterpreted law and used unnecessary force in order to break up the rave. The promoters are seeking a review of the mass-gathering ordinance the Sheriff claims was violated.

More than one thousand people were in attendance at the rave when police broke it up. Sixty were arrested. Many claim they were handled roughly while being taken into custody.
