(KSL News) -- Sheriff's deputies have a warning for parents tonight after a child nearly drowned in Kearns.
Detectives say a 16-month old boy and his sibling were taking a bath together when their babysitter left the room. The babysitter says when she came back the 16-month- old was face down in the water.
Det. Shawn Roberts, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "We just wanna stress the importance of not leaving children unattended in the bath tum at any age."
The babysitter immediately called 9-1-1 for help. A medical helicopter flew the boy to Primary Children's Medical Center. He's now listed in critical condition.
Deputies say the sitter's quick thinking probably saved the boy's life.
