SALT LAKE CITY -- It's better than a "fat chance" the next Biggest Loser could come from Utah. If you've got more than 100 pounds to lose, the NBC hit show's producers want to chew the fat with you this weekend.

NBC is holding a casting call in Salt Lake City this weekend for the "Biggest Loser."

Vice-president of Marketing and Promotions for KSL Steve Poulsen says audiences absolutely love the show here in the Beehive State.

"Tuesday night between seven and nine, [we get] huge ratings every week," he says.

He believes the show's strength is in the story behind its contestants.

"This probably is a lot about the story, a lot about the person themselves, about how much they have to lose," he says. "Those types of things all come into play."

It's part of the reason he believes so many hopeful losers turned out when the casting call previously happened in Salt Lake City, back in 2006.

"We had a huge line that went out the building," Poulsen remembers.

The casting call begins at 10 Saturday morning at KSL Broadcast House. You can line up early, but not before 7 a.m.

If you plan to go:

  • You must be at least 18 years old by May 24, 2010
  • Bring a non-returnable photo
  • Applications will be provided on-site

You can also submit an application and a videotape if you want to audition but can't do so in person. Full details about the in-person casting calls and applying via video are available via this link.
