Packers win on Rodgers-to-Rodgers Hail Mary...UCLA knocks off No. 1 Kentucky

DETROIT (AP) — Aaron Rodgers threw a 61-yard touchdown pass to Richard Rodgers with no time left to give the Green Bay Packers a stunning 27-23 victory over the Detroit Lions. The Packers, who trailed 20-0 at halftime, got the extra play after Detroit defensive end Devin Taylor was called for grabbing Aaron Rodgers' facemask on a tackle on what would've been the last play.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Thomas Welsh led five players in double figures with 21 points and UCLA knocked off No. 1 Kentucky 87-77 in the Bruins' first victory over a top-ranked team since 2003. UCLA leads all colleges with 11 national titles and Kentucky is second with eight.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP)— A person with direct knowledge of the decision tells The Associated Press that Arizona State offensive coordinator Mike Norvell will be the new head football coach at Memphis. University President Dr. M. David Rudd wrote on Twitter that he hired a "great football coach" who would be introduced at a news conference Friday.

MIAMI (AP)— The University of Miami has called a news conference for Friday to introduce its new head football coach. It's been widely reported that former Georgia coach Mark Richt (RIHKT), who won 145 games in 15 years with the Bulldogs, will be the next coach of the Hurricanes. Miami hasn't won a bowl game since 2006.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP)— Legendary Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim (BAY'-hym) was denied his appeal of a nine-game suspension by the NCAA, which did rule the suspension could start now. The change means the 71-year-old Boeheim will now miss six non-conference games and only three ACC games, returning for North Carolina on Jan. 9. Assistant coach Mike Hopkins will lead No. 14 Syracuse on Saturday at Georgetown.
