MRI negative on Torres...Browns put Kirksey on IR...An keeps the lead

NEW YORK (AP) — The Yankees say an MRI on Gleyber Torres' right hamstring has come back negative, a day after he fell awkwardly fielding a ground ball. The team announced the MRI results about 15 minutes before their game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium. Torres isn’t in the lineup. The AL East champions are being cautious with their star second baseman as they head to the postseason.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Browns linebacker Christian Kirksey has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a chest injury against the Jets. Kirskey will miss at least eight games and may need surgery. The loss of Kirksey will put more strain on a Cleveland defense that could be without its entire starting secondary on tomorrow night against the high-powered Los Angeles Rams.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The second round of the storm-delayed Sanderson Farm Championship has been completed, and Byeong Hun An still has the lead. He played 25 holes yesterday and had a pair of 66s to reach 12-under 132. He goes into the third round with a two-shot lead over Scottie Scheffler, George McNeill, Tom Hoge and J.T. Poston. It’s the second time in two months An has had a 36-hole lead on the PGA Tour.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ Brad Keselowski has the pole for tonight’s NASCAR Cup race at Richmond Raceway. Keselowski had a top lap of 127.185 miles per hour to claim his 17th career pole and second at Richmond. It will be his 16th top-10 start in 28 races this year. Kevin Harvick finished second in qualifying followed by Chase Elliott, Kyle Busch and Clint Bowyer (BOY’-ur).

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Japan's Keiji Tanaka and Sota Yamamoto have finished 1-2 in the men's final at the U.S. International Figure Skating Classic. Vincent Zhou won the bronze medal for the U.S. and Americans also finished fourth through sixth — Alexei Krasnozhon, Tomoki Hiwatashi and Jimmy Ma. The U.S. won the pairs title behind Ashley Cain-Gribble and Timothy LeDuc. It was the second straight title at this event for the duo.
