COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Anthony Cowan Jr. scored a career-high 31 points, Jalen Smith had 18 points and 14 rebounds, and No. 15 Maryland beat 18th-ranked Iowa 82-72 Thursday night to snap the Hawkeyes' five-game winning streak. The Terrapins never trailed after halftime in the rematch of a Jan. 10 meeting that Iowa won 67-49 to launch its five-game run. With Cowan leading the way, Maryland won its fourth straight and improved to 12-0 at home. Luka Garza scored 21 for the Hawkeyes and Joe Wieskamp had 17. Garza, the Big Ten's leading scorer, was in foul trouble throughout.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Andres Feliz scored 17 points while Ayo Dosunmu and Kofi Cockburn added 13 points each as No. 19 Illinois held on to beat Minnesota 59-51. It was the seventh consecutive win for the Fighting Illini on Thursday night. Illinois moved into a first-place tie with Michigan State in the Big Ten. Daniel Oturu led the Golden Gophers with 20 points and teammate Alihan Demir scored eight points.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin men's basketball team is trying to rebound from some bad news. Kobe King, the second-leading scorer, is transferring. The Big Ten also suspended Brad Davison for one game for a flagrant foul he committed against Iowa. Davison will not play at home against No. 14 Michigan State on Saturday. Badgers coach Greg Gard says he is confident his team will bounce back.

UNDATED (AP) — It may be hard to dismiss Illinois in the race for the Big Ten title. The Illini are a half-game behind first-place Michigan State. Illinois is No. 19 in the latest AP Top 25, its highest showing since 2013. The Illini are one of six Big Ten teams ranked between 14th and 25th. Three members of that group — Illinois, Penn State and Rutgers — are shaking up the conference a bit after being largely irrelevant for varying periods. Illinois faces Minnesota on Thursday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Kaila Charles scored 19 points to lead five Maryland players in double figures and the 17th-ranked Terrapins eased by Ohio State 85-65. Shakira Austin and Taylor Mikesell each added 15 points for Maryland, which has won six straight games since losing at Iowa, now ranked No. 18, on Jan. 9. Blair Watson had nine points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four blocks. Braxtin Miller scored 15 points, and Dorka Juhasz had 14 points and nine rebounds for Ohio State.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Ali Patberg scored 20 points, draining back-to-back 3-pointers in overtime and the No. 20 Indiana women turned back upset-minded Wisconsin 75-65. Patberg scored eight of her 20 points in the overtime period. She was 3-for-4 shooting in the extra period including 2-for-2 from distance, Wisconsin, led by Sydney Hilliard's 23 points, bolted to a 22-10 lead after a quarter and was still up by 10 going into the final quarter. Jaelynn Penn (15 points) hit a wide-open 3-pointer from the right side for a 61-61 tie with 14.6 seconds remaining and a critical turnover hurt Wisconsin when Hilliard was called for a charge with 8.2 seconds remaining.

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Lindsey Pulliam scored a season-high 32 points, and No. 23 Northwestern led throughout the fourth quarter in an 81-73 win over Michigan. Pulliam, a junior, was one short of the career high she set in her freshman year for the Wildcats (18-3, 8-2 Big Ten). Northwestern pulled away to their largest lead with an 11-2 run capped at 75-63 on Pulliam's pair of free throws with 1:48 left in the game. Naz Hillmon had 27 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Wolverines (13-7, 4-5).
