OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — One of the Golden State Warriors' scoring machines is on the blink. Stephen Curry has a mild to moderate left groin strain and will miss Saturday night's home game against Brooklyn. Curry underwent an MRI exam Friday. Coach Steve Kerr said it doesn't look like it's going to be a long-term injury.

NEW YORK (AP) — J.P. Ricciardi (rih-CHAR'-dee) is leaving the New York Mets after eight seasons. The Mets announced his decision a day after the end of the annual general managers' meetings and 11 days after hiring Brodie Van Wagenen to succeed Sandy Alderson as general manager. Assistant general manager John Ricco and special assistant Omar Minaya remain with the team, at least for now.

MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Dolphins could be without three injured starting offensive linemen Sunday at Green Bay. Guard Ted Larsen is doubtful with a neck injury, and left tackle Laremy Tunsil and right tackle Ja'Wuan James are questionable with leg injuries. All three were limited in practice Friday, as they have been all week.

BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bruins say goaltender Tuukka Rask (TOO'-kah rask) has been granted a leave of absence from the team for a personal matter. General manager Don Sweeney says it's not health related. Rask has started only seven of the Bruins' 15 games this season and acknowledged being outplayed recently by Jaroslav Halak. Boston has lost three of its last five games. The Bruins host Toronto on Saturday night.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams have canceled practice after a wildfire forced about 20 players and coaches to evacuate their homes. The Rams will cram their normal Friday preparations into a workout at the University of Southern California on Saturday before they face the Seattle Seahawks at the Coliseum on Sunday. About 45 Rams employees were evacuated, although coach Sean McVay doesn't believe any homes have been lost.
