Eight of nine Mountain West teams will be in action in Week 4 with two league tilts and four nonconference contests on tap for Saturday, Sept. 20. Four of the six games will be televised, with national broadcasts on VERSUS, CBS College Sports Network and The Mtn. In MWC action, Wyoming visits No. 14/11 BYU (1 p.m. MT, The Mtn.) in the conference opener for both squads, while No. 20 Utah travels to Air Force (2 p.m. MT, VERSUS) in a clash of unbeatens. In non-conference play, Colorado State hosts Houston (1:30 p.m. MT), while New Mexico heads to Tulsa (6 p.m. CT), TCU visits cross-town rival SMU (7 p.m. CT, CBS C) and UNLV entertains Iowa State (6 p.m. PT, The Mtn.)
The Mtn. is available on channel 616 on DIRECTV CHOICE and above packages for the states servicing MWC institutions (Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and the designated market areas of Dallas/Fort Worth and San Diego). Customers throughout the remainder of the country will be able to access The Mtn. with a subscription to DIRECTV's Sportspack. The Mtn. will broadcast 30 live regular-season football games this season, including six triple-header Saturdays.

The Rams are coming off a bye week after defeating Sacramento State, 23-20, on Sept. 6, while the Cougars dropped a narrow 31-28 decision last week to the Rams' fellow MWC foe Air Force. The Cougars have won all three meetings between the two teams, including a 38-27 decision last season in Houston. The previous two clashes took place during the 1972 and 1973 seasons. Since the inception of the MWC, Colorado State is 2-4 vs. Conference USA squads. | ||

| Air Force (3-0) and Utah (3-0) return to conference play with a Saturday date in Colorado Springs. The Falcons defeated Houston, 31-28, last week, while Utah rolled to a 58-10 win over Utah State, 58-10. Utah K/P Louie Sakoda was the hero the last time the teams met at the Academy. Sakoda, then a sophomore, kicked a 37-yard field goal with no time left on the clock to secure a 17-14 Ute victory in 2006. Last season, Air Force snapped Utah's four-game win streak in the series with a 20-12 win in Salt Lake City. The Utes have won the last two matchups in Colorado Springs, despite being 4-7 all-time at Air Force. | ||

Host Tulsa (2-0) is coming off a bye week after defeating North Texas (56-26) on Sept. 6. The series is tied with both teams owning a 1-1 mark in both Albuquerque and Tulsa. The Lobos and Golden Hurricane will be meeting for the first time since 1997, which resulted in a 51-13 UNM victory. New Mexico and Tulsa were two of three football teams in 2007 to produce a 1,000-yard rusher, a 3,000-yard passer and two 1,000-yard receivers. | ||

TCU won the last meeting between the two teams, a 21-7 contest in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs have won seven of the last eight games vs. SMU, dating back to the 2000 season. The Rebels upset 15th-ranked Arizona State in Tempe, 23-20, last weekend as Malo Taumua blocked a field goal in overtime to give the Rebels their second win of the season, while the Cyclones (2-1) fell to in-state rival Iowa, 17-5. Iowa State has won all four meetings with UNLV, including a 16-10 win in Ames in 2006. UNLV is 2-10 all-time vs. Big 12 teams. | ||
