SALT LAKE CITY (January 30, 2008) - Utah Jazz guard Ronnie Brewer and forward Paul Millsap were among 18 players selected for the 2008 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam on Friday, February 15 in New Orleans.

The participants in the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam were selected by the NBA's assistant coaches, with each team submitting one ballot. The head coaches for the Rookie and Sophomore teams will be the lead assistants from the 2007 NBA All-Star Game coaching staffs.

Among the most improved players in the league, Brewer has started all 45 games for the Jazz and is averaging 11.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.6 minutes. His scoring average has improved by 7.7 points over last season, the fourth largest jump in the NBA, and second among current second-year players. He has scored in double figures in 32 of his 45 games, after accomplishing the feat just seven times as a rookie. He also leads the Jazz in steals at 1.89 per game, ranking 14th in the NBA, and is tied for the league lead in steals-per-turnover at 1.85.

A 2007 second-round selection (47th overall), Millsap has appeared in all 127 games since being drafted by the Jazz, and is averaging 8.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 0.96 steals in 20.5 minutes per game this season. He ranks second on the Jazz in rebounding and has scored in double digits 14 times, posting two double-doubles. Millsap also participated in the Rookie Challenge last season in Las Vegas, where he tied for the Rookie team lead in scoring with 22 points (9-13) and grabbed eight rebounds in 27 minutes of action.

Brewer will be the fifth player in Jazz history to participate in the Rookie Challenge, joining Bryon Russell (1994), Andrei Kirilenko (2002-03), Deron Williams (2006-07) and Millsap (2007-08).

The T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam will be televised live nationally on TNT and also will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio, while NBA.com will make live audio available to fans in multiple languages.
