Bees start season 4-0 after sweep in Vegas

For the first time in franchise history, Salt Lake has opened a season with a four game series sweep after the Bees edged the Las Vegas 51s 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. Kasey Olenberger (1-0) worked seven strong innings for the win, as he allowed just two runs on four hits with five strikeouts and four walks. Jose Arredondo pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his third save of the weekend, although a walk and a single put the potential tying and winning runs on base, but he retired Xavier Paul on a fly ball to center to end the game.

The Bees took a 1-0 lead in the first, as Bobby Wilson walked and then moved around the basepaths on three wild pitches by Las Vegas starter Eric Stults. Kendry Morales delivered a run scoring single in the third to add to the lead and Matt Brown capped off Salt Lake's scoring with a leadoff home run in the fourth. Brad Coon and Sean Rodriguez each had two hits for the Bees to extend their season opening hitting streaks to four games.
