Snapshot of the Week: Dec. 12, 2015

We kick it off with a Wyoming first for Gary and his son. Gary has hunted since he was 14, but this is the first big animal he's ever shot. This is Gary as he stalks in on the buck. His buddy Randy and Corbin were guiding him in. This is an experience these three guys won't forget.

Five year old KJ woke his dad up by saying "Wake up dad! It's fishing day!" Johnny got up and took KJ to the American Fork Boat harbor where KJ had his sights set on catching a fish that looked like a cat and he did, two of them! KJ said they were so big, they made his muscles hurt reeling them in. The kid can't wait to catch some more.

On their way up Sardine canyon to hunt deer the Miller family noticed something pretty odd. This cougar taking a drink out of a small water hole, right off the road. Greg and his wife were able to get within a couple of hundred yards to take this shot, that's when they noticed the big cat was injured. They reported the sighting to the DWR.

Martin was down to the second to last evening of the deer hunt. His four year old boy Connor was the only one that wanted to go out with him that night. After a hike, on the way back to their four wheeler dad spotted this buck below him and with Connor at his side, Martin shot this 28 inch, 190 class buck. A great way to spend time with his son.

But our winner tonight had a slow hunt, but still caught some great memories and this spectacular sunset. Shon was hunting with his dad Cari and his two boys Bracken and Cade. Waterfowl hunting is a tradition for this family and even though they only shot two ducks that day, Shon says he will always treasure the time with his family and sunsets like this, that remind him of how special hunting and the outdoors is. No doubt a great tradition Shon and a great sunset, that has just won you our big prize for having...the snapshot of the week.
