LONDON (AP) — Flights have been briefly disrupted at Britain's Manchester Airport after reports of a drone in the area.
The airport said some departing flights were delayed and a few incoming aircraft diverted Monday while a police helicopter inspected the reports. No drone was found.
The airport says one of its two runways was closed for about 20 minutes. Drones are an increasingly common nuisance to commercial aircraft.
An official report last year disclosed that a device believed to be a drone came within 20 feet (6 meters) of an Airbus A320 landing at Heathrow airport in July.
British Civil Aviation Authority regulations state that drones must not be flown beyond the unaided line of sight of the operator, or within 50 meters (55 yards) of a person, vehicle, building or structure.
