NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Belmont University says a new $87 million building at the heart of its campus in Nashville, Tennessee, will be named after health care giant HCA's chief executive officer and his wife.
The Tennessean reports (http://tnne.ws/1JHP3wM) R. Milton and Denice Johnson announced last month that they would donate $10 million to support the Bridges to Belmont program, which offers full four-year scholarships to some graduates of four Davidson County high schools.
It was the biggest donation to a scholarship program in the school's recent history.
The R. Milton and Denice Johnson Center will be the new home for the Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business and the school's media studies program.
The building includes space for a 950-seat cafeteria, two movie theaters, a TV production studio, a sound stage and a motion capture room where students can create live-action computer-generated imagery.
