HOLLYWOOD, Dec 6, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Former Walt Disney Motion Pictures President Nina Jacobson is going to DreamWorks under a three-year production deal with the Hollywood studio.
Jacobson left DreamWorks for Disney in 1998 and returns with what Daily Variety said was a tight relationship with major filmmaker talents such as Wes Anderson and Christopher Nolan.
Her tenure at Disney was largely successful with releases such as "Pirates of the Caribbean," "The Chronicles of Narnia," "The Sixth Sense" and "The Princess Dairies." Not so successful was "Hidalgo."
She left Disney last summer after a shift in corporate strategy led to layoffs and a reduction in the number of action flicks in the works at the studio.
"Sixth Sense" director M. Night Shyamalan teed off on Jacobson over her decision to pass on his film "Lady in the Water," although Variety said Jacobson defended herself by saying give-and-take is required in the creative process.
