Utah grabbed two of the three Mountain West Conference player of the week honors after its thrilling 17-14 win over Air Force on Nov. 18. Sophomore kicker/punter Louie Sakoda picked up his third MWC special teams player of the week honor for his game-winning 37-yard field goal as time expired, and junior linebacker Joe Jiannoni won his first league honor after tying his career high with 15 tackles, including 11 solo. Jiannoni also had 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack for two yards. Sakoda's clutch kick was his only field goal attempt of the night, but he made both PATs. He also punted five times for an average of 45.2 yards per punt, with two 57-yarders. He placed two of his five punts inside the 20-yard line. Sakoda also won MWC special teams honors on Sept. 4 and Oct. 9.
