SALT LAKE CITY - Sophomore forward Morgan Grim will be out approximately eight weeks following a successful surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot, the Utah men's basketball team announced Friday.

"I am very disappointed for Morgan and for what his loss will mean to our team," said Utah head coach Jim Boylen. "He is a valuable member of this team and this basketball family, and we hope he has a speedy recovery."

The injury is presumed to have been sustained in practice prior to Utah's win against BYU on Tuesday. Grim had the surgery Thursday afternoon.

A native of Riverton, Utah, the 6-8, 220 lb. forward has seen action at forward in 14 games this year, making four starts. He is averaging 0.8 points per game to go with 0.9 rebounds and 0.5 blocks in 5.6 minutes per contest.

Grim's best game of the season came at home on Jan. 17 in an 82-66 victory over Colorado State, in which he tied a career-high with five points while contributing a season-best five rebounds and one blocked shot in 15 minutes of action.
