A not-so-average Joe saves lives with 4 words: 'I love you, bro'

Joe Tuia’ana and Aron stand at the spot the two met on an overpass in Lehi over I-15. Aron is a young man who nearly took his own life several years ago; the two agreed to meet on the overpass and discuss his experience with the Deseret News on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Tuia’ana saved him from jumping off the overpass in Lehi. The two men are now great friends, and Tuia’ana describes time with Aron as “sacred space.” Both men now encourage other men to talk about mental health frankly.
