MILAN, Italy — Clayton Keller made his long-awaited Olympic debut Sunday.
After leading the United States to their first ever gold medal at the IIHF World Championships last year, Keller slid into the third line for the US, replacing Kyle Connor in the lineup against Germany.
Utah's captain didn't have a scoring impact in the US' 5-1 over Germany as they clinched Group B.
Team USA captain Auston Matthews led the way against the Germans. Matthews recorded three points on two goals and one assist. USA scored five goals before Germany was able to light the lamp.

Mammoth forward J.J. Peterka assisted on Tim Stutlze's third period goal for Germany, giving Peterka his third point of the Olympics.
In the first game of the day, Switzerland beat Czechia 4-3 in overtime on Dean Kukan's game-winner.
Czechia's Martin Necas tied the game with 2:06 left in regulation but the Swiss were able to edge out Czechia to claim second place in Group A.
The second-straight 10-plus goal game belonged to Canada as they dominated France 10-2 in the second match on Sunday. Nine different players recorded a goal for Canada as they outshot France 46-14 to clinch first place in Group A.
Connor McDavid totaled three points once again to give him nine points in Canada's first three games. Macklin Celebrini found the back of the net two more times as part of his own 3-point game.
Denmark outlasted Latvia 4-2 despite getting outshot 35-20. Denmark scored a trio of goals in the opening period before Latvia netted two unanswered goals.
Nick Olesen added an empty net goal for Denmark to give them their first win of the Olympics as they and Latvia both finished the preliminary round with a record of 1-2.
Men's ice hockey will begin the playoff round on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
