MAGNA — Westbound traffic on I-80 near Magna has reopened as firefighters progress in fighting a wildfire nearby Friday evening.

United Fire Authority officials think the fire that caused the closure of I-80 in Magna should be out Saturday morning.

Crews have stopped the fire's growth, officials said, and are now cleaning the area.

The fire itself is located between Great Salt Lake State Park and the Great Saltair. The Utah Department of Transportation says all eastbound lanes of I-80 are closed at Exit 102.

The fire earlier Friday evening was reported at 45 acres and was 20% contained, according to officials with Utah Fire Info.

Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.
