PAROWAN — An early morning ATV crash in Parowan on Wednesday prompted a Life Flight airlift response, and a reminder from the Iron County Sheriff's Office about off-road safety.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a report of an ATV crash at approximately 8:23 a.m. in Parowan on 100 West near the TA Express Travel Center truck stop.

"The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident and sustained serious head injuries," Cpl. Charles Day said in the press release.

Gold Cross Ambulance transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was later airlifted by Intermountain Life Flight for additional medical treatment.
