ST. GEORGE — Intermountain Healthcare's St. George Regional Hospital opened a new day treatment center building for youth mental health last week as part of its Partial Hospitalization Program.

This specialized program, which officially becomes available Tuesday, is offering evaluation and intensive treatment for adolescents aged 13 to 17 and their families, with the goal of helping them face behavioral, emotional and social difficulties.

These intensive care and skill-building activities are available to kids for five days a week, with each day being about the length of a typical school day.

The course of treatment will be up to 15 days, though the exact length of stay will be determined by the youth, their parents and the program team.
