BEAVER — Dark window tint and a suspicious travel story led to a vehicle search on Interstate 15 in Beaver County that yielded two kilos of suspected cocaine.
On Oct. 20, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper noticed a vehicle heading north near mile marker 120, just north of Beaver, with a window tint that appeared darker than Utah's legal limit.
According to charging documents filed with the court, the trooper stopped the car after a license plate check found no insurance on file for the vehicle.
While speaking with the driver and passenger, James Lafayette Ruth and Panya Femi Martin, both 45 from Southern California, the trooper reportedly became suspicious of the pair's travel plans and suspected they might be involved in criminal activity.
