Coward's 24 lead Eastern Washington past Weber State

OGDEN — Cedric Coward scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Eastern Washington beat Weber State 80-78 on Thursday.

Casey Jones made a pair of free throws for Eastern Washington with four seconds left. Weber State's Viljami Vartiainen hit a 3-pointer to end it.

Ethan Price scored 22 points and added five assists for the Eagles (10-7, 4-0 Big Sky). Jones was 3-of-8 shooting and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line to finish with 12 points. It was the sixth victory in a row for the Eagles.

The Wildcats (11-7, 2-3) were led by Steven Verplancken Jr., who recorded 16 points and two steals. Dillon Jones added 14 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals for Weber State.

Vartiainen finished with 11 points.
