SALT LAKE CITY — St. George resident Keri Thompson walked off the "The Price is Right" stage with $62,728, two vacations, a home theater set and a one-year supply of ice cream.

The episode was filmed in July at the show's new studio in Glendale, California, and aired nationwide Wednesday.

A mom of three, the St. George native went to the studio with one of her daughters, initially just looking to spend time together on a show they've enjoyed for years.

"I don't do this. This is not my normal way I go through life," Thompson said. She and her daughter were excited to just be part of the audience, and thrilled to learn they would get to be on the stage instead.

"Knowing my luck, I thought 'I can't play, I shouldn't play, because my luck has never been anywhere good,'" Thompson said.

As Thompson's winnings grew, her excitement grew, too. She couldn't believe how well the game show was turning in her favor.

Though she's been watching the show her whole life, Thompson feels the winnings can only be from luck — that there isn't a level of skill that could turn the tables for any given contestant.

Seventeen minutes into the show, Thompson had already won $36,000 and was ready to finish up before going back in to double the money and add two vacations to the mix.

Thompson looks forward to her vacations to Belize and St. Martin, and says she will use some of her cash winnings to do some repairs, start a rainy day fund, and maybe splurge a little.

"You know, I think there's bound to be something ... I won't go crazy, maybe a TJ Maxx run," Thompson said. "Maybe I'll go and buy some new shoes, but nothing crazy."
