ST. GEORGE — After having to remake the schedule on its first season in the Football Championship Subdivision, Dixie State released its full slate for the six-game spring season Thursday.

The Trailblazers, who are making the jump to Division I and will join the Western Athletic Conference in all other sports, will play six games against five opponents, beginning with the Feb. 27 season opener at fellow WAC newcomer Tarleton State.

Three of Dixie State's first four games are on the road, including a road trip to FBS New Mexico State (which also competes in the WAC in basketball and other sports) and a trip to FCS Kennesaw State.

The Trailblazers' lone road game in the first month is a March 13 home date against Tarleton State. They'll also play Division II Fort Lewis on March 27 and New Mexico Highlands on April 3 at Greater Zion Stadium.

All three home games will kick off at 7 p.m. MT.

The announcement comes a day after the Big Sky Conference released its six-game conference-only schedule, which includes a rivalry matchup March 27 between Weber State and Southern Utah.

The Trailblazers were initially scheduled to play both schools in the fall before the NCAA's move to postpone the season to the spring. Dixie State is currently scheduled to host Weber State in 2021, and will play at SUU in 2022.
