SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's daily report Sunday shows an additional 332 Utahns have tested positive for COVID-19.
But for the second day in a row, no coronavirus-related deaths were reported.
The numbers bring Utah's total coronavirus cases to 14,313, up from 13,981 confirmed cases the day before. Utah remains at 139 coronavirus-related deaths, and 8,252 Utahns are estimated to have recovered from COVID-19.
The state reported the results of an additional 4,931 coronavirus tests over Saturday's numbers. It has now tested 267,713 total people in the state, for a positive result rate of 5.3%.
Last month, before a recent spike in case growth, that positive rate had approached 4%.
According to the health department, 137 Utahns are currently hospitalized with positive COVID-19 cases. Since the pandemic began, more than 1,000 Utahns have been hospitalized for the virus.
Only 7.6% of investigated COVID-19 cases in the state have required hospitalization, the department says. However, more than a quarter of coronavirus cases over age 65 have required hospitalization in the state.
Three hundred and two Utahns have required ICU admission after contracting COVID-19, and 134 — 1.1% of cases in the state — have been placed on a ventilator.
Small area case data from the health department shows that, on the Wasatch Front, westside Salt Lake City and West Valley zip codes continue to exhibit the highest per capita case rates. For instance, the Glendale neighborhood has a case rate of 1,707 per 100,000 population.
